2013 Garden

I made a huge dent in our yard work this weekend, crossing several items off our list, and it felt good to get outside and do a little work.

I was able to get 90% of the garden planted and the fence put up. This year’s crop is tomatoes, basil, lettuce, beans, onions, and peppers. Still need to get a couple of cucumber plants. The surprise addition for this year was a rhubarb plant. I haven’t had luck growing one from a root, but stumbled on some healthy looking plants…fingers crossed it keeps!

I also added a variegated dogwood to the front and replaced several plants that fell victim to last years dry conditions.

I call that a successful weekend!

Next up…mulch, a new tree, and Josh’s flagpole.
