Today I spent the day doing some of my holiday baking. Have the battle with a bake-a-thon is the prep and shopping. Here’s a shot of the counter pre-baking:
For an office cookie exchange I need to make six dozen cookies. Rather than make one cookie (boring), I opted to make check mix and peanut butter toffee bars (new recipe found here through here). For a little excitement I added some ‘puppy chow’ to the mix…it’s easy to make while I’m waiting to stir batches of traditional Chex Mix.
My friend Cynthia joined me halfway through the day to lend a hand, chat, and also whip up a batch of cranberry/Pistachio biscotti. It was DELICIOUS…can I get that recipe, CB?
As of tonight I’ve made: 4 batches of Chex Mix, 2 batches of puppy chow, and 2 batches of peanut butter toffee bars. I’m all set for the cookie exchange on Monday, but will probably whip up a couple more batches of Chex for the Christmas party we’re hosting on Friday.
