Looking for a new game?

A family favorite growing up was a fun word game called Balderdash. I remember sitting around the table playing with my parents and grandparents, all laughing hysterically. We played over Thanksgiving at my dad’s and had a blast!

Balderdash is a simple bluffing game where the ‘dasher’ draws a definition card and rolls the die to decide which word to read.  The ‘dasher’ reads the word aloud, then writes the correct definition while all other players write down what they think the definition to the word is. Players submit their definition to the ‘dasher’ who reads each definition aloud. Players try to guess which is the correct definition and are awarded points based on if they guess the correct definition, if others guess their definition, etc. Then the ‘dasher’ rotates to the next player.

It’s a great game for all ages, well as long as they can read and write, and is definitely great family fun.

What games do you like to play with your family? I’m always on the lookout for something new!
