Historic Third Ward Milwaukee

For my last afternoon in Milwaukee I explored the Historic Third Ward district in downtown Milwaukee per the suggestion of two friends CB and LE…thanks guys!

It was a beautiful day to walk around and explore the unique area. I hit Anthropologie, Broadway Paper, and window shopped the many other boutiques. I finished off with lunch outside at the Public Market. There were many great home furnishings stores that I’ll put on my list for next year!

The Public Market was a really neat open building full of different vendors…deli, sushi, meat & fish markets, bakery, pastries & candies, wine, flowers, coffee, etc. I can just imagine living in the neighborhood, waking up on Saturday morning and heading down the Market for breakfast & coffee and to shop for the weekend’s groceries.

If you ever have the opportunity, check out this neat area of Milwaukee history.

*thanks Google Images for these pics…mine were not good!

Not sure how long you will be in Milwaukee, but go to the famous Bryants Cocktail Lounge if you have time. Here is their Facebook page http://www.facebook.com/home.php?#!/bryantscocktaillounge?ref=ts

Oh, and County Claire is another fun place–Irish Pub and a bed and breakfast too.
