Why is it that my neighbor has such a hard time picking up after her dog? We set a good example by picking up after Miss Zoey. What gives?!?
As Association Treasurer, do I charge $10 each week when one of us is mowing the yard and has to step on/walk over/drive over a pile? Do I pick it up and set it on their doorstep…on fire? Do I buy them a set of poop bags?
Yesterday I actually caught her in the act of pooping and leaving. I should have just walked out and handed her a bag! Really, isn’t that a part of pet ownership?!

Our association will hire a “poop-picker-uper” and send them the bill. First send out a letter stating that poo is being left behind and if it’s not immediately taken care of, someone will be hired and they will be billed!!
Their dog, their poo, their responsibility. Difficult issue to have to deal with though, no doubt about it.
As a fellow dog-owner I would’ve personally walked up to your neighbor with a plastic bag and said, “Do you need a plastic bag to pick up? Here! I’ve got one right here for you! I forget them inside all the time and always have to go back in for one. It’s such a pain!”
Or you could just put up a sign saying you’re going to start charging…but how do you figure out whose dog the poop belongs to unless you actually catch them in the act. Don’t want to charge the wrong pooper.
