Nick and I are supposed to take Dad to an Iowa Cubs game on Friday to celebrate his birthday and Father’s Day…fireworks and all! Well, Mother Nature has other plans. Stadium employees are beginning to sandbag the stadium as flood waters continue to rise in Des Moines. For those that don’t know, the stadium is right next to the river. And, all bridges in downtown Des Moines were closed last night. According to a Des Moines Register report, the team may be forced to move all home games to Memphis (as in TN). Sorry Dad, we aren’t roadtripping it to Memphis.
Plan B probably won’t be as exciting as an Iowa Cubs game, but, when it comes to my family, it doesn’t matter what we’re doing as long as it’s time spent together. We manage to make it fun!
